In this exclusive video for The BTN, Andrew Fox (Group Head of HR, Retail Banking and Wealth Management at HSBC) discusses what companies can do to magnetise talent. Andrew considers how this could see a return to the ‘war for talent’ dialogue and processes, which he believes is a disfavour to HR.
He discusses how the industry changed to employees being less loyal to an organisation, causing organisations to build an employer brand that will attract and retain talent. Andrew establishes that employer branding is integral, but is not HR’s forte, but should be created with the marketing function to ensure an alignment between internal advocacy and external branding. He advises that talent attraction and retention are competitive areas between organisations, but require a level of fluidity to ensure it adapts with changing market and industry requirements.
