Has Business Psychology shifted the goalposts?
Technology has been used in selection for a number of years: online assessments are nothing new. However, what has changed has been the explosive growth in computing power which has enabled the processing of vast amounts of information which can analyse profiles and behaviours in different situations in a manner which even five years ago we could have only dreamt about. How useful, however, has this progress been? How accurate is the information now at our fingertips? Do we suffer from information overload, and is it quite simply that selection and talent management is still and will always be dominated by an element of the art which it always had?
Speaker: Julie Towers, Managing Director of Penna and Board Director, Adecco Group UK and Ireland
Julie Towers, as Managing Director Recruitment Solutions at Penna, is at the forefront of specifying and applying these powerful tools at our disposal. She will provide her view of current best practice in the use of technology in recruitment and staff management, and give us some indicators of how increasing use of technology can be used to good effect in the industry, and where its limits genuinely lie.
Penna is a global HR Services Group, helping organisations ‘improve their performance through their people’. Their expertise spans the entire employment lifecycle – from resourcing, executive search, executive interim and assessment to coaching, learning and development and outplacement. Penna is part of Adecco Group, the largest recruitment company in the world.
It is expected that the presentation will last 45 minutes followed by approximately 30 minutes of Q&A and networking will, as usual, be encouraged at this event.
