The Role:
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Engineering Director to lead and develop our talented software engineering teams. This is a crucial leadership role, focusing on strategic decision-making, team development, and ensuring the delivery of high-quality, scalable software solutions. You will be instrumental in shaping our engineering culture and driving our technological vision.
Responsibilities:
- Team Leadership & Management:
- Lead and mentor 2 teams of 10-12 engineers, fostering a positive, collaborative, and high-performing environment.
- Provide technical guidance, performance management, and career development opportunities for team members.
- Recruit, onboard, and retain top engineering talent.
- Cultivate a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
- Strategic Decision Making:
- Collaborate with product managers and other stakeholders to define and execute the engineering roadmap.
- Make critical technical decisions regarding architecture, technology stacks, and development processes.
- Evaluate and implement new technologies to enhance our platform and drive innovation.
- Ensure the scalability, reliability, and security of our software systems.
- Delivery & Execution:
- Oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of software projects, ensuring adherence to deadlines and quality standards.
- Implement and optimize agile development methodologies.
- Monitor and report on team performance and project progress.
- Resolve technical roadblocks and mitigate risks.
- Communication & Collaboration:
- Effectively communicate technical concepts and strategies to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Build strong relationships with cross-functional teams, including product, design, and operations.
- Promote knowledge sharing and collaboration within the engineering organization.
Qualifications:
- Experience:
- Proven experience as an Engineering Manager or Director, leading and managing software engineering teams.
- Demonstrated ability to build and scale high-performing engineering teams.
- Strong track record of delivering complex software projects on time and within budget.
- Experience working in a fast-paced, agile environment, preferably within the fintech industry.
- Technical Skills:
- Solid understanding of software development principles, best practices, and architecture.
- Experience with modern software development technologies and cloud platforms.
- While our current stack is primarily Node.js, we are open to candidates with a strong background in other relevant technologies.
- Ability to understand and evaluate technical designs and architecture.
- Leadership Skills:
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.

- Education:
