In part 3 of this series around ‘Future Leadership’ in partnership with PeopleSmart SAS, Terry Jones (Senior Director, Global Talent & Development at Palo Alto Networks) looks at ‘Employee Experience’ where he identifies what role the office plays going forward.
According to Terry, companies large and small are now adopting hybrid work patterns unrecognizable from pre-pandemic routines where being in the office five days a week has disappeared forever, depending on where you are around the world. Therefore, it is important that firms have that basic platform around work so that they are able to assess where people are on that journey.
Terry then goes on to explain how the office has a massive part to play in employee experience, this is due to the fact that working in the office differs from working from home. For example, having coffee breaks that you may not get from being on a zoom call. The office becomes vital for certain factors, such as ideation, collaboration, team meetings, customer centricity and wellbeing. However, some may say that working from home allows more freedom and flexibility than working from the office.
Therefore, organisations must create a workspace that is inviting and different, doing this can help individuals feel a part of something a lot bigger and tangible that perhaps you cannot get on a zoom call.
