Stephen Sidebottom is a global HR leader with international and emerging markets experience and a track record of leading significant growth, acquisition, and transformation to drive business performance. He is commercial and creative, with expertise in leadership development, talent, culture, performance, manpower & succession planning, reward, governance, learning & development, and resourcing & recruitment. Stephen currently acts as an advisor, coach and mentor to people from C-suite to start-ups, as an independent consultant, and as a NED. Until 2018, Stephen was in Singapore as StanChart’s Global Head of HR for CIB, and led Organisational Design and Change across the Group. StanChart serves clients in Asia, Africa and the Middle East and runs its business from Asia. He joined StanChart from Nomura where I was Global Head of Organisation Development and EMEA Head of HR, leading the people aspects of Nomura’s acquisition and integration Lehman Brothers in Europe. This was an extraordinary professional experience, particularly in the context of the unfolding financial crisis. Before Nomura, Stephen was at Dresdner as Corporate Finance and Equities global HR business partner and also ran global learning and graduate recruitment. He cut his teeth as HR Head at Commerzbank, setting up the UK HR function to support the international securities business.
